How to play
Left-click or tap (in reveal mode) to open a square. Right-click or press F to flag a suspected mine. On phones, use the Flag mode toggle before tapping to place flags.
On desktop, Shift+click a revealed number to chord—if the surrounding flags match the count, hidden neighbors open. Arrow keys move focus; Space reveals the focused cell.

What is Minesweeper?
Minesweeper is a logic puzzle played on a grid of hidden squares. Some squares contain mines; the rest are safe. Revealing a safe square shows how many mines neighbor it (0–8). Your goal is to uncover every safe square without detonating a mine.
How to play
- Start with a corner or edge—your first click is always safe.
- Use numbers to deduce mines: if a "1" touches one hidden cell, that cell must be mined.
- Flag mines so you do not click them by accident.
- When all non-mine cells are revealed, you win. Hit a mine and the game ends—reset or start a new board to try again.
Pick a difficulty
Beginner is ideal for learning; Expert matches the classic desktop size. Each difficulty has its own page with tailored tips—switch anytime from the selector above the board.
Strategy tips
When two numbered cells share hidden neighbors, compare their counts to find forced safe squares. If you are stuck, look for a 1–2–1 pattern along a straight line—it often pinpoints mines on the outer cells.
