Word search
Find every word hidden in the grid. Drag or tap the first and last letter of a word to mark it found.
How to play
Words may run horizontally, vertically, or diagonally. On desktop, click the first letter then the last letter of a word. On touch devices, drag across the letters in a straight line.
Harder difficulties allow more directions and larger grids. Use New puzzle for a fresh layout with the same category and difficulty.
How word search puzzles are built
How this word search works
Every puzzle is generated on the fly from a curated word list, then the remaining cells are filled with letters drawn from those same words. That is why the board looks dense—there is no random noise padding, only letters that belong to real entries, which is what makes false finds genuinely difficult.
Nothing is copied from newspapers or third-party puzzle packs, so two people playing the same category and difficulty will still get different grids. Difficulty changes how many directions words may run and how large the grid gets, not which words appear.

Frequently asked questions
- Which directions do words run?
- It depends on difficulty. Easier grids keep words horizontal and vertical left-to-right; harder grids add diagonals and reversed entries.
- Are the word search puzzles generated?
- Yes. Each puzzle is built on the fly from a curated word list, with the remaining cells filled from those same letters. Nothing is copied from newspaper grids.
- What is the daily word search?
- One shared puzzle per UTC day. It is derived from the date key, so every visitor sees the same grid and word list until midnight UTC.
